Commercial Class with Brooke & Mary

I just completed a killer three-week commercial class with Brooke Thomas of Brooke Thomas Casting and Mary Egan Callahan of House Casting. This class is a real gem and I highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to work commercially. I've already had three commercial auditions and a callback since taking the class!

I'm on Buzzfeed!

My boyfriend and I filmed a video for Distractify in which we we describe each other to a police sketch artist. The results are pretty ridiculous. Just found out it's being featured on Buzzed, and now I'm a GIF. Sarah Cassell, Girl of the 21st Century. Check it out on Buzzfeed and Distractify. Or just watch it right here.

Sketch Show at the Magnet Theater

Reading of Elsie Janis and the Boys at the York Theatre, NYC

My first project back in NYC is a reading of a new musical called Elsie Janis and the Boys, by John Prestianni and CJ Crittenden. It's part of the York Theatre's Developmental Reading Series. It's a WWI era musical about Elsie Janis, a singer and actress who was immortalized as the "Sweetheart of the American Expeditionary Force."

Level 2 Improv Show at the Magnet Theater

I have my Level 2 improv show at the Magnet Theater Training Center on May 29 at 9:00pm! My class is super talented and we had the amazing Louis Kornfeld as our instructor. Super psyched for this.

Cast Album of GABI GOES GREEN

This photo depicts a successful afternoon spent recording the cast album of Gabi Goes Green in the awesome home recording studio of Matt Castle and Frank Galgano. I'm so proud of where we have taken this show and what it has become - it's going to educate a lot of students, and on top of that, it's a really heartfelt and entertaining piece of theater.

The end of the tour is approaching in three weeks, a bittersweet fact, and I can't help but reflect on all the opportunities it has afforded me and how much I have learned. It has been such a fantastic experience.

Me, geeking out about recording Gabi Goes Green, by Barry Wyner and Daniel Israel

I've already started preparing for my return to the city, where I have to figure out my life like all the other poor souls here (literally, we're so poor). But for now, I'm going to soak up my last few weeks as a Jersey girl. Whatever that means.

Workshop Performance of GABI GOES GREEN at GSP

Today, we put librettist Barry Wyner's and composer Daniel Israel's new musical, Gabi Goes Green, on its feet! We spent two weeks rehearsing for a workshop presentation of the show, which we performed here at George Street Playhouse. We'll be leaving rehearsals to go on the road with our other shows for a while, but when we return in March we'll start adding all the fun production values like sets and costumes. According to design concepts, we're all going to have shiny green superhero jumpsuits.

Originating a role has been one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. I can't wait for people to see this show fully produced. What makes it especially fun is the fact that the show is about an issue that really matters to me - climate change. I love that George Street is taking the initiative to bring awareness to students in a really accessible way. More news (and photos) to come as Gabi Goes Green develops!

Vlog Update

Here's the latest video blog from the touring cast at George Street Playhouse. This one features me talking about my character, Mencha, in New Kid.

Vlog Updates from George Street Playhouse

We've been touring for almost two months now, and one of my cast mates has started making video blogs to document our experience. He's going to keep updating and creating new ones, so stay posted!

The second one makes it look like we do no work at all. This is what happens when we have long breaks during two show days...
